update.. finally!!!

Whew.. May has been a busy month! At the beginning of the month Christian was invited to the "kids connect" day at the Thayer school of Engineering and he had a blast!! It was an all day adventure building robots out of lego's and then computer programming them to do all sorts of things. He has been very busy with school, baseball and even a trip to a nearby camp for two nights with his 5th grade class. It is a tradition to get the whole 5th grade together from his school and the Westshire school, as they will be one 6th grade class together next year. Daddy volunteered to go as well. (brave soul!) They hiked, sang, played games and even went down some zip lines in the woods. Daddy even did that, and Christian's teacher had to catch him.. Mr. N said it felt like a linebacker running into him! Too funny!! Sarah has been busy as well. The ballet season has wrapped up until September with a spring recital which was held on the 17th. We were so happy that Nana and Papa could come watch! It was nice having them here to spend some quality time with.. they even got to see one of Christian's baseball games. They live so far away and it was a real treat for them to see the kids doing things they love. More big news: we talked Daddy into a puppy!!! A little girl pup which we have named "Sally". We call her sleepy Sally , or silly sally.. she's a real mellow pup so far and oh so cute!! We go and get her from time to time for just an hour or so until she is ready to come home for good. Our neighbor who rescues pets owns her for now. She took in the mama dog who was rescued from a neglectful family and then she had 4 cute pups! They will all go to loving homes, even the mom. We will officially own Sally in the summer sometime. Very exciting!!!

Sarah after the recital, May 17th, 2008. It was Sarah's 5th recital! It seems like she just started ballet.. time goes too quickly doesn't it?! Thank you for the lovely flowers you gave to our ballerina Fleming family.. we are so glad you could make it. It meant so much to us!!

using the computer to program the robot

Christian and his team demonstrate their robot! It worked! They had this mat set out on the floor with "water" and a city.. the robots were programed to do such things as push things into the water etc. It was pretty interesting to watch all of the groups with their robots. You could have heard a pin drop during each demonstration!
