Buddy

Buddy~ July 1993-February 13, 2008
We're sad to say that we had to put our dog "Buddy" of 14 yrs down last week.. he was very sick with cancer. He'll be loved forever.. we miss you buddy!!! This is the last picture taken of Buddy. He loved his blanket and he loved the warm radiator! This was taken about a week before he passed away.

Our vet sent us a sympathy card and this story came along with it. I burst into tears as soon as I read it. I guess we'll be sad around here for a while. The house is so emtpy without Bud. It seems we are always looking around for him or wondering who is going to let him out/in or if we have a scrap of meat or some other goody that Buddy would just LOVE etc.. so it will take some time. We are lucky we had him for so long.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of it's many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. But there is one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring and this one suddenly runs from the group. You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again.

You look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be seperated.

Jenny B. tagged me...

The rules for this meme are: (1) Link to the person that tagged you. (2) Post the rules on your blog. (3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. (5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
My New York Pal Jenny sent this to me:
www.jennyandbradplus3.blogspot.com tagged me!!! NOW.. six NON IMPORTANT (NON being the important part!!!) things/habits/and quirks about me.. this should be easy and there are a lot more than six!!!! Here we go!!!! :
1) I worry too much
2) I eat too many sweets
3) I would stay in my pj's all day if I could
4) I like to make sure all the doorhandles are wiped at home and in the classroom (this is good though, right??)
5) I listen for when the kids go in the bathroom and if I don't hear the water running I make them to back and wash their hands. (hey, we've been pretty healthy all year and I bet this has something to do with it along with #4, right??)
and last but certainly not least 6) I get flaky, especially under pressure, then something even flaker may come out of my mouth!!!..as most of you already know!!!
These are almost too embarassing to post, but I was honest and did all six!! Like I said, there are more than six as I'm sure is true for most of us!!! FUN STUFF!!!!
I do not know ANY other bloggers to tag, so I guess it ends with me until someone creates a new blog!!!!

Snowday.... AGAIN!

SMILE!!! You're almost done!!! of course about five minutes after he finished, a snowplow went by and blocked the entrance to the driveway!!
Here they are in the snow! Sarah is not too happy here though because Christian stepped in her snow angel.... :) and Christian.. where is your hat?????

Kit nosing around for some hay under all of that snow. He JUST got done rolling (as you can see..)which I missed.. I need to get a shot of that because it is quite comical! Christian and Daddy keeping him company.. The baby's love having their heads scratched, especially right around their sprouting horns! Of course we got loads of kisses too.. on our pants, coats, mittens and even the camera!! A couple of mama devons looking on in the background..

Kit's roomies.... Baby Devons.. aren't they cute?

"I am finally outside now, but mom.. what are you doing with that camera, is there a goody in there somewhere???" Kit kept walking towards me as I tried to get a shot of him.. he's such a clown!! I think he is the most curious guy I've ever seen.. too funny!!!

Another SNOW DAY!! I don't think we have had a full week of school in three weeks! We got a lot more snow this time (wed. night into Thurs.) and lost power for a few hours. When we got up, we went outside to play a bit (the four of us had a little snowball fight and I think the kids won!) and took a picture of the kids in all of the white stuff.. Daddy got the driveway done, then we decided to walk down to the barn and spend more time there and we had fun! We took some pictures while there too. This is Kit's friend "shadow" the barn cat!! Shadow hangs around kit's stall and keeps him company. He also keeps US company by running over for a pat as soon as we arrive at the barn. He is usually the first one to greet us when we walk inside, apart from Kit's nickering that we hear as we are walking in! "HEY!! Get out of the way Shadow!! Mom is trying to let me out!!!"

5th grade basketball picture

Here is the picture I promised!! I FINALLY got around to taking one, and tonight was the night! Eric, who is the coach this year, :) has split the team up so that half play at one game and the other half at the next because they do not get much playing time in otherwise. A Bigger team this year!! Tonight was a make up game due to a snow storm, so all of the boys were there but two. The rivendell raptors won!! Good job boys!!!

Snow Days

We had a snow day on Wednesday and they sent everyone home at noon today due a snow/ice storm that we are still in the middle of as I type this. On Wed. we had Christian's friend Samuel and his brother Marshall came over for the day. Their mom, who is a history teacher at a neighboring school had a two hr delay. Since ours was closed they came over and played with Marshall's cool new interactive game. As you can see Eric is even into it on the drums!!! They sang, "played" drums and guitar ALL day and only stopped for lunch. Sarah and I had a "girl" day. When the storm let up some we went and got our hair trimmed at the local salon, then we did our nails. Fun Stuff! :)
