chores etc.

I put this one on here for you Jenny.. Margie here is one of the sweetest cows in the barn! Most of the cows at the farm (especially the ones that were born there) are named after dear loved ones/friends and even neighbors. No Christian or Sarah yet.. The babies are named with the first letter of the mother. Margie here had baby Martha.
Shannon was with us today and Christian was over at her house playing with her brother Liam. we do the switcheroo quite often! We put them right to work. It was our night to help at the farm so I just gave the girls just about all of my jobs (Eric helps milk). They fed the milkers their grain and the calves too.
Kit's stall was cleaned very thoroughly and they put the grain in his bin.

They gathered (and found.. there are hiding places around!) the eggs and fed the chickens. Thanks for your help girls! I didn't have to do very much tonight!

This turkey has been sitting on chicken eggs now for quite some time.. we're anxiously waiting to see what will happen when (or if) the eggs will hatch and what happens then!

Love!

Sarah was flying on Kit today.. Eric looks so relaxed in the picture and my heart was in my throat.

Garden

We love June.. it makes for some pretty bouquets!
We've been trying to keep the garden free of weeds, (unlike last summer!) Here is one of Sarah's favorites... chives... yummm

The rose bush Eric and the kids got me for mother's day about 5 years ago has the most blossoms that I've ever seen on it.. it's amazing what a little "moo-doo" will do!! haha! It smells heavenly..

Sarah and I added this flower bed a few years ago. It's mostly plants that we took from older beds that were needing to be thinned out some. I didn't plan on where to put stuff very well..so things don't all bloom at once, oh well, it's still pretty! :) Now if only we could keep the moles/voles away.. the nasty things are digging tunnels under the plants and they are drying out. We go out all of the time and just push down on the plants and fill in the holes.. I need to make a trip to the feed/seed store to get some repellent or something! (notice the plant right in the front with the tiny white flowers in-between the red flowers and the iris.. looks like someone drove right through it with a bike.. it's a tunnel.. sooo frustrating! )

Dad

A Dad is a person who is loving and kind, And often he knows what you have on your mind. He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends. A dad can be one of your very best friends! He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong, A dad can be patient and helpful and strong. In all that you do,a dad's love plays a part. There's always a place for him deep in your heart. And each year that passes, you're even more glad, More grateful and proud just to call him your dad! Thank you, Dad...for listening and caring, for giving and sharing, but, especially, for just being you! Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day Daddy.. we love you very much!
Happy Father's Day to Grandpa!

Happy Father's Day Papa!
To all of the Fathers we know: have a wondeful day! You are special!

Fields of Lupine

We went to Sugar Hill, NH to visit the annual Lupine festival held there. I wanted to try and make it this year because I love Lupines, and we missed last year.
We went to "Polly's Pancake Parlor". The kids ordered these amazing hot chocolates. Here is Christian with a mouthful of whipped cream.

I get a shot of this each time we visit Sugar Hill. I can't resist.. isn't it a pretty scene? I just wish it would not have been so cloudy...

I'll try and post another picture on Sarah's blog. She updated it herself last night too.. finally!(good typing practice!) http://www.asilearnasigrow.blogspot.com/

In one Lupine field we walked in, they had "inspriational" plaques along the way. We came across this one.. a verse of "for the beauty of the Earth". It's one of my favorite hymns.

For the Beauty of the Earth, for the beauty of the skies, for the love which from our birth, over and around us lies. For the beauty of each hour, of the day and of the night. Hill and vale and tree and flower, sun and moon and stars of light. Oh God to thee we raise, this our hymn of greatful praise!

Children's Sunday

They played "Holy, Holy, Holy" on the hand bells. Later in the service (which on Children's Sunday is put on entirely by the kids!) Sarah and a few other girls sang "This little light of mine."
Christian (with Kathy.. one of the Sunday School teachers) looking on. He read a lot of parts because a few kids weren't there. He did very well !

Sarah reading her paragraph from the Bible and our little friend Adele holding the "light of God" light bulb! The pictures were blurry.. my camera was on the wrong setting.

Congrats Tyler!

My nephew Tyler just graduated from an academy in VA and it now a professional firefighter in that state. Here he is with his Dad Ray (also a firefighter) and Uncle Randy (who is a correction officer). (AKA my bros!) This was taken at his graduation ceremony which was a couple of weeks ago. We are so proud of you Tyler! Good luck with your new job! We know you will love it, you've certainly worked hard for it!
