last weekend

Sally loves her boy
Here they are.. the two that are causing all of the trouble!! The new additions to the farm, Chester and Ellie. They really are the sweetest things and will follow you anywhere, but Kit thinks they are going to eat him alive. Last week he caught site of them and got away from me and ran into the newly planted pumpkin field. Then the goats got out at the same time.. It took Eric and I along with two others (with NO help from Harry, the farm's dog) to get everyone safely into their homes again. SO the three are going to have to get used to each other in order to achieve a happy "farm family"!!!

Our Azaleas are in bloom! We didn't get as many blooms as last year due to a too late pruning last year, but they are still so pretty, aren't they?

Sarah had a riding lesson on Monday. Here she is after just coming up from the ring. This guy was sure giving her a hard time.. his grazing straps broke during the lesson and he just wanted to eat!!

We were wondering where the girls got off to... and here they were found watching their brother's play baseball from the portable toilet behind the school.. GROSS GIRLS!!!

Sarah, and her friends Shannon and Cecily during the ball game. It's so wonderful to see Cecily doing so well after her illness!

expo

our beautiful girl
Christian had a band concert on Wednesday night for school expo. He got a chance to play a solo on the trumpet, great job buddy! Here he is with Ms. Blake, his band teacher.

Christian and the solar car he and his partner Timmy made for the "solar-sprint challenge". His class went to the challenge yesterday for a field trip with their solar cars, which they raced.

Christian's clay"Aristotle the Great" was on display at our school expo. Each grade had samples of students work. Sarah had a book of poems there. I will post some of them when we get the book back to keep!

(isn't aristotle cute?!!)

Tuesday update

When I went up to bed the other night this is what I saw.... must be that night light is too bright! Sarah's been sleeping on the futon in our upstairs office due to a couple of large spiders that she saw in her room. I can't blame her.. I wouldn't sleep in there either!
Sarah riding Kit on Saturday. She got quite a bit of riding time in on him before her first riding lesson of the year. She started (along with her friend Shannon) on Monday after school. The girls were very excited about that and they missed their instructor and her horses too. I hope to get some pictures at the tail end of one of the lessons soon.
My boy pitching on Monday night. He did a great job!!

We went up to our neighbors house for supper last Friday and I got a shot of Mike and Sarah again.. do you think she's starting to warm up to him yet???!! Well, if nothing else, they sure do look cool!! :)

we're back!

horray! I got a camera for mother's day !!! (thanks hon!) The kids also surprised me this morning with some gifts. Sarah gave me a copy of the play she was in a few weeks ago. We watched it after church today. It turned out very well. She also snuck out while we were still in bed (in her night-gown!) and picked me some flowers and gave it all to me with a sweet card. Christian gave me a book of poems he wrote himself. He is quite the poet! Here is one that I wanted to share:

MY MIRACLES
To me many things are miracles
mostly the simple ones
like the stars at night or just the Earth
I think it's a miracle how the Earth is at just the right angle
for life
Or the smile
Or feelings
Or a plant blooming in Spring
To me someone that changes the world is a miracle
Wind of sunshine is a miracle
The simple human being is a miracle
Something as simple as a dog barking or life as it is lived is
a miracle to me

my babes
A silly face while practicing piano!

My brothers Ray and Randy with my Dad, who received his 40-year mason pin. Congratulations Dad! (40 yrs, wow!!) Thanks Ray for sending me this one.
