These were taken in Sept. We had heavy rains and a local farmers pumpkin field flooded.. there were thousands of pumpkins floating down the Connecticut River (which flows across the street from our home.)this was in our view for weeks afterwards.

fall family hike

We didn't see any that day, but Falcons inhabit these cliffs and built their nests here during nesting season.

About these pics: We hiked up the Fairlee Palisades and visited the old cemetery in our town (a favorite thing to do by my brother and I especially!) during a wonderful family visit from my brother, his wife and son. We found the grave of Samuel Morey (inventor of the internal combustion engine which well known Robert Fulton received credit for) and John Mann (founder of our town, which was charted in the later part of the 1700's) visit www.ctrivertravel.net/fairlee.htm to learn more on the history of the area!

Eric and Christian along with our friends Mike and Liam all looking up at a "rock climb" at the fair. Whoever makes it to the top gets the grand prize. They are all thinking of a way to get it!!!

Mike gave it a try...he made it about half way.. nice try Mike! They make it impossible to get to the top to get that $100!!!
