Autumn in New Hampshire

Some pictures from my favorite season, autumn! You really can't beat the beauty of a New England fall. We took the kids up to Franconia Notch, NH for a long bike ride on a scenic path and stopped for a picnic along the way. These pictures are from that area taken this past fall and one from camping trip we took up north as well.

**Prayers headed out to my cousin Debby's family tonight....We were saddened to hear that her 16 yr old daughter Donia was involved in a serious car crash a couple of nights ago. Two people lost their lives in the incident and Donia lost her arm and also has a broken leg. Please say a prayer for them.**

Our Sunday was a cold, cold one here in NH. Bright and beautiful, but COLD! After barn chores, we went to church. Christian read scripture and did beautifully. He read Isaiah 49:1-7 and ICorinthians 1:1-9. (if you'd like to look up what he read!)Quite long ones, but very well read, loud and clear! Everyone at church enjoyed hearing him and he will do it again real soon. We look forward to it. We got home and had a quick bite, then Daddy and Christian went to watch the football game at a friends house. Sarah and I stayed home and made bracelets and suncatchers. (with a harry potter movie running in the background!)

She's been practicing hard at ballet every week for the recital (which isn't until May, but they have already gotten started on it!) Here is a picture up above of her and her friend Shannon who came to watch the show from last year! We are trying to play a little catch up with pictures to share with you!

Christian with one of his many barn cat friends. This shot was taken in Cape Vincent, NY where Grandma keeps her horse. Sarah is in the background getting the feel of another Tennesee Walker, "Jake". Sarah rides Jake just about every time we visit the barn, while Christian plays with his furry friends! As you can see, this fur-ball is loving every minute of the attention that Christian is so willing to give.

After school chores....

We just got back from the barn. Sarah and I do the "scooping" and Daddy usually lets Kit in, but he worked a little late tonight, so I let him in along with the kids help. Thanks kids!! I really do not like to do that alone. Kit stays in his own pen behind the barn during the day then goes back to his bed after school. We practiced "whoa" and "walk" all the way back. What a good boy!!! Christian helps with the electric fence then runs off to play with all the barn cats (usually using the riding crop for them to scamper after!)

Here is a picture of him getting much, much love from Sarah out in his pen (he is too busy trying to move all of that "white stuff" around looking for a bit of green!) This was the day we took our Christmas picture, which had to include Kit this year!
Well, we had better be off.. Christian and Daddy have basketball practice tonight! Practicing up for that big game against Thetford on Saturday. GO RAPTORS!!! I will try and get some pictures on here soon of Christian in his uniform.

A Sleepover

Christian has his buddy Liam over tonight for a sleepover. I caught these two under the blanket playing Nintendo... time for bed boys!!! Basketball practice in the AM!!!! :)

One musical cat!

Lacey-Cat loves it when Sarah plays piano and she certainly knows that she is SARAH'S cat. Lacey can do no wrong!!!

Some writings from last year...

We wanted to share a poem and a "how to" writing by the kids. I was looking through some of their papers and such and found these. I remembered reading them last year and thought them very cute and wanted to share! Sarah wrote this poem one day (2007-1st grade) while she was looking out the window at the snow falling. This is something she did at home one day and it is one of her favorites (mine too!) She would like me to share it with you! I am typing it word for word :) :
The Whit World
by Sarah Perenti
The wole world is coverd in white even in the nyit. Wen you look out your windo you will see a whit blankit strecht acros the valy. Little white dots falling down the sky. The nyit's are vary cold. All winter long. You can mack a snowman or have a snowball fite. You can mack a snow Angel but, the best thing about winter is Chrismas. Chrismas is Jesusus birthday! thats wey winter is my favrit seson.
Here is something Christian wrote in his school writing notebook-2007-4th grade. It is about a big interest that he has.. basketball!!! Again, word for word!
Are you lonely? If there is a ball around and some kids you can play basketball!
Step by step procedure to play basketball
1. First get your the person your training.
2. Then go get your basketball.
3. Then drive to your school gym.
4. Then tell your person to take the basketball in their hands.
5. Now tell them to walk up to the half court line.
6. Tell them to place the basketball in their hands and shoot the baketball into the air and try to hit the basketball inside the box and you'll probally get it in the hoop.
I would play basketball because.......
If I was bored
If there was a ternament
If you like sports
Now go get some friends at school and play bcketball!!!!
Here's a tip. When you are shooting at the hoop bend your legs and jump.
